Summer break & preparations for the upcoming academic year

Whilst the summer break is always a relaxing time for our regular members, behind the scenes, there's a lot going on! Our candidate board (Kentauros) held its first board meetings and discussed their vision for the association for the upcoming year. Additionally, we worked hard on brainstorming & writing our policy plan. Board Nonius, on the other hand, was finishing up their tasks and preparing to hand over the job to Kentauros. 

Keiweek & ESN x ACLO

Each summer, it is up to the (candidate) board members to represent Parafrid during the info markets of the annual introduction weeks for new students in Groningen. This year, despite some technical difficulties, we talked to a lot of very enthusiastic people, a good few we have seen during trial lessons! The days on the infomarket were long, and a bit chaotic sometimes (who plans a football match on the same day and time as the infomarket? *cough cough.. ACLO?*), but super fun and a great way to bond and spend time together! 

VNSK

This year, Parafrid had the honour of organising the annual VNSK (Association Dutch Studentrider Championship)! The SOPcie did an awesome job with the theme (VNSK3, referring to the popular Dutch/ Belgian music group K3) and organising everything from accommodation to the horses and the prizes. We had loads of fun doing the additional activities alongside showjumping and dressage, such as hobbyhorsing, doing an obstacle course with a very stubborn Shetland & Welsh pony, a bareback version of muscial chairs on horseback, and during the pub quiz. Regarding the official competition, however, all horses and ponies, stable-owned and privately owned, did an amazing job, as well as the riders. In particular, we are very proud of our Parafridders Merel, Hannah, Kris, & Michelle, who competed in various categories. Merel came in 2nd place in the Lb dressage, Michelle came in 2nd place in the M dressage, Kris came in 2nd place in L showjumping, and Hannah stole the show and won 1st place during L showjumping!
