Horses & ponies

Almanak_Amalia.JPG

Amalia

Gender: Mare

Amalia is our superstar in the beginner lessons & for the more advanced rider. Make sure to be kind and patient with her in her stable.

Almanak_Armani.JPG

Armani

Gender: Gelding

Breed: KWPN

Armani is a very kind horse, and knows a bunch of more advanced dressage movements. When riding him, think: less is more (in terms of aids), but make sure he's active and on your leg.

Almanak_Asterix.JPG

Asterix

Gender: Gelding

Breed: Haflinger

Asterix knows how to flat & jump very well, but needs some extra encouragement sometimes. Make sure that he doesn't escape his stable! He can be a bit cheeky on the ground and when riding. He's not a huge fan of other horses near him when riding, so make sure to find your own space in the arena.

ayla.png

Ayla

Gender: Mare

Breed: Haflinger

Initially trained as a driving horse, Ayla loves to trot and has some trouble (and a lot of excitement) cantering, sometimes.

Almanak_Balthazar.JPG

Balthazar

Gender: Gelding

Note: Currently out of the running.

Balthazar is a true allrounder at the Bongerd, but due to poor eyesight in one eye, he only does dressage lessons now. He is a lot of fun to ride, but might need some time to get warm.

Almanak_Be.JPG

Gender: Gelding

Note: Currently out of the running.

Bé is another of the Bongerds' superstar allrounders. He jumps & flats amazingly, but is recovering from an injury now.

Almanak_Billy.JPG

Billy

Gender: Gelding

Breed: Irish Cob

Another fantastic horse. Billy is awesome for beginner riders, but to those doing M dressage tests. He also likes to jump, which he does well!

bink.png

Bink

Gender: Gelding

Note: He currently does not jump.

Bink was born at the Bongerd, and is unmissable in the dressage and jumping lessons. He can a bit cheeky on and off the ground, so make sure to be clear & confident with him.

charlie.png

Charlie

Gender: Gelding

Note: Currently out of the running.

Charlie is fairly new at the Bongerd, and a very fun pony to ride. He is very forward, but very sweet. He absolutely loves to work, especially when it involves some poles or jumps.

charmant.png

Charmant

Gender: Mare

Breed: Haflinger

Charmant is a very fun haflinger who is a bit cheeky but is super fun to ride during the lessons. She is quite forward. She is an amazing jumper, but lacks some confidence in that area, so be clear and patient with her.

Almanak_Chico.JPG

Chico

Gender: Gelding

Chico is an amazing pony to learn how to ride on, but is not used much in our lessons. He is extremely cute and often sticks his tongue out.

Almanak_Deli.JPG

Deli

Gender: Mare

The vaulting superstar at the Bongerd has also been loving riding in our lessons. She is very forward, but extremely sweet. Be gentle with her mouth, and rider her with your seat.

Almanak_Elsa.JPG

Elsa

Gender: Mare

Elsa is a very sweet horse on and off the ground, although she does like her personal space. She is not used often in our lessons, but is very fun.

Almanak_Famke.JPG

Famke

Gender: Mare

Breed: Friesian x ...

Famke is an unmissable horse in our beginnner dressage lessons, but can also be a lot of fun for the more advanced rider. Be clear with her, though, and make sure she gets into a forward-thinking state of mind. She also tries to escape sometimes, so be careful!

Almanak_Frodo.JPG

Frodo

Gender: Gelding

Another fantastic beginner horse. An extremely trustworthy and comfortable ride, but is not often used in our lessons. He loves exploring, though, so make sure you keep an eye on him!

Almanak_Gentleman.JPG

Gentleman

Gender: Gelding

Our fine, distinguished, Gentleman. He is super kind and affectionate in his stable, and a very sweet horse to ride as well. Make sure to keep him active (he makes big steps, but that does not automatically mean he's on your leg). He looooves jumping, and will only do so with the more/ most experienced riders.

Almanak_Kwibus.JPG

Kwibus

Gender: Gelding

Another distinguished gentleman, and mainly used for our beginner riders. He can be a bit cheeky when he doesn't agree with you, but is super sweet and will teach you a lot! He is not a huge fan of standing still, though.

lieve_2.png

Lieve

Gender: Mare

Lieve is arguably one of the most versatile horses at the Bongerd. She can be a star in dressage, and is fantastic to jump. When riding her, she can seem a bit "lazy" at first, but don't overuse your leg! Use it occasionally when necessary, and make sure to have a whip. Other than that, let her find her own pace a bit. Be a bit careful in her stable when tacking up though, she is not always.. lief (sweet).

lizzy.png

Lizzy

Gender: Mare

Note: Currently out of the running.

Lizzy is one of our most requested horses amongst our more advanced riders. She is quite sensitive, but incredibly sweet and fun to ride. Make sure to ride her with calm hands and mainly on your seat.

marc.png

Marci

Gender: Gelding

Originally used as a trotter before coming to the Bongerd, Marci has now transformed into a very fun dressage & jumping horse. Make sure to keep him forward, but beware that he might sometimes respond with a buck to an aid with your whip.

nala.png

Nala

Gender: Mare

Nala has something Spanish in her, which really adds to her character. She is very sweet, and has a fun expressive pep in her step. Ride her based on your seat & gentle hands. She can be a bit cheeky sometimes though. She loooves treats.

nevada.png

Nevada

Gender: Mare

Nevada is a very fun mare to ride, and can often be found in our (semi) advanced dressage lessons. She can be a bit spicy (red mare) sometimes as well, but is very sweet.

niels.png

Niels

Gender: Gelding

Niels is the tallest horse at the Bongerd, but has a very small heart & is super kind to who ever is on his back. He has stringhalt, which prevented him from becoming a high-performing dressage horse, so we're very lucky to have him!

Almanak_Oskar.jpg

Oskar

Gender: Gelding

Oskar is, again, unmissable in our beginner lessons. Whilst he is not always very sweet in his stable, he is incredibly sweet to riders on his back. More advanced riders love having a go on him as well.

Almanak_Rosie.JPG

Rosie

Gender: Mare

Note: Currently does not jump.

Note: Do NOT tie her up in her stable, she will attempt to hang herself.

Rosie is a superstar in both dressage and jumping lessons, as she used to be an eventer. She is amazing for the more beginner, but also the more advanced rider!

Almanak_Safier.JPG

Safier

Gender: Gelding

Safier is one of the older horses at the Bongerd, and is a very fun beginner (and semi advanced) horse. He has cornage and is blind in his left eye, though, so be careful of that.

Almanak_Sol.JPG

Sol

Gender: Gelding

Sol is another Spanish-blooded horse at the Bongerd, and is a really fun one! He's very athletic, and currently our best and most honest jumper. He's also pretty smart, so make sure you double lock his stable.

AlmanakStarlight.JPG

Starlight

Gender: Mare

Starlight is a very fun little chestnut pony, who is always in for a great cuddle in her stable. She is not super forward during dressage lessons, but loves to jump! She's good at it too. She is a bit cheeky and may buck if you use your whip, but they're very easy to sit out.

Almanak_Steff.JPG

Steff

Gender: Gelding

Steff, also known as "Steff Stuntpiloot" is an incredibly fun horse at Manege de Bongerd. He is a star at jumping (although may refuse sometimes), and is fun to ride during the dressage lessons as well. He is absolutely invaluable in our lessons and at the barn.

summer.png

Summer

Gender: Mare

Note: Currently does not jump.

Summer, like Bink, was also born at the Bongerd, and is loved by many riders within Parafrid. She is fairly young (7-8), and still needs to work on her balance, especially in the canter. She needs to be ridden with some enthusiasm, but is super sweet and can be very fun to ride.

tink.png

Tinkerbell

Gender: Mare

Breed: Irish Cob x ...

T'bell is a very fun little pony who is absolutely fantastic to jump, but doesn't, always, if you know what we mean. She is a bit cheeky, but very fun to ride in dressage lessons as well.

Almanak_Vinius.JPG

Vinius

Gender: Gelding

Vinius is a fantastic horse to jump and flat with. He has a bunch of buttons, but may need some encouragement finding them. Vinius has a bit of a swing in his step, and will absolutely ride his heart out for you if you let him.
